Genetics and Physiology of Seasonal Fitness Optimization
How do insects change phenotypes in different seasons?
Throughout the year, seasons change, requiring different strategies for insects to survive and reproduce. In the Van der Burg lab, we seek to understand how organisms change their phenotype in response to seasonal conditions. We investigate the physiological, genetic and evolutionary underpinnings of changes in phenotypic plasticity and seasonal fitness optimization.
